Crooked or misaligned teeth
Discolored or stained teeth
Gaps between teeth
Over- or undersized teeth
Worn-down teeth
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin, white shells that we adhere to the visible parts of your teeth. This natural-looking restoration option allows you to recreate your smile fast. We customize every restoration, giving you the perfect smile of your dreams. Our experienced dental staff makes the process quick and easy — you could have your new smile in as little as two appointments at our Pembroke Pines office.
How Do Veneers Work?
Your journey to a new smile begins with your initial consultation appointment. During this visit, Dr. Hart will examine your teeth and take impressions of your mouth. We’ll send these impressions to a dental laboratory, where dental specialists will create your custom porcelain veneers. Dr. Hart will also address any underlying oral health issues at this appointment.
After just two to four weeks, you’ll return to our Pembroke Pines office to have your veneers placed. We’ll begin by removing a small portion of your enamel to make room for your new replacements. Then, Dr. Hart will use a bonding agent to place your veneers on your teeth. After a short waiting period, you’ll leave our office with a flawless, vibrant smile.
How Do I Take Care Of My Veneers?
While porcelain veneers aren’t a permanent solution to cosmetic tooth problems, they can last up to 15 years with proper oral care. Thankfully, caring for your veneers is easy. Along with brushing and flossing with non-abrasive toothpaste at least twice a day, you’ll want to rinse your teeth after meals with an alcohol-free, antibacterial mouthwash.
To preserve your smile’s shine, Dr. Hart recommends avoiding staining foods and beverages, such as coffee, wine, and berries. Hard foods can also damage your replacements, so you’ll want to avoid candy, ice, nuts, and popcorn.
The best way to keep your stunning smile is to visit Dr. Hart’s Pembroke Pines office every six months or at least twice a year. She and her team of dental professionals will deep clean your teeth, so you’ll have the perfect smile that you’ve always dreamed of.

What are dental veneers?
Dental veneers are like thin contact lenses or press-on nails for your teeth. They cover and enhance the appearance of teeth, masking imperfections such as color, shape, and length. They provide a natural-looking solution.
When would a dentist recommend dental veneers?
Dentists often recommend veneers if you're unhappy with the shape, color, length, or overall appearance of your teeth. Veneers offer a quick solution for achieving a better smile without the lengthy process of braces or teeth whitening.
Are there specific circumstances that make veneers a good choice?
Yes, if you're seeking a fast solution for straightening teeth or whitening, veneers can be a great choice. They provide immediate results without the time commitment of traditional orthodontics or whitening methods.
What dental issues can veneers address?
Veneers can address a range of issues such as chipped, cracked, short, or discolored teeth. They act as a conservative and aesthetic solution to mask these imperfections, giving you a desired smile.
What are the differences between dental veneers and crowns?
Dental veneers require minimal tooth adjustment, usually less than a millimeter, focusing on the front surface. Crowns, on the other hand, involve more tooth reduction and cover the entire tooth. Veneers are more conservative and retain more natural tooth structure.
How are veneers placed?
There is a process for placing dental veneers, and it starts from when you come in. We took initial pictures to get an idea of what you would like, and then we get a preliminary design to show you what it's going to look like. We now even have amazing technology where you can even try it on before you actually get it to make sure you like how it looks.
Once we get past that part, and you've accepted the treatment, we start to adjust a little bit off of your tooth, no more than a millimeter at most, off of the front side of your tooth, the part that's closest to your lips. From there, we take an impression, either digitally or with impression material, and send it to the lab. The lab creates customized veneers, and during the final visit, they are bonded onto the teeth for a natural, beautiful result. The veneer process generally involves around three to four visits.
Will veneers match my tooth color?
Yes, it actually depends on how many you're getting. If you're getting your two front teeth done, then ideally, we would ask you if you're happy with your color first. If not, we may recommend bleaching those teeth first so that we can match your new veneers to the rest of your teeth. Some people wonder what a Smile Zone is, and that is the teeth that you see when you smile from corner to corner. We as dentists evaluate that and look at it with you in a mirror to make sure that we are covering the teeth that people see.
What's the difference between porcelain and composite veneers?
Porcelain veneers are lab-fabricated and more durable, while composite veneers are done chairside and mimic porcelain's appearance. Porcelain veneers tend to have better color stability and longevity. The choice depends on factors like aesthetics, durability, and cost.
How should I care for my veneers?
To care for your veneers, maintain regular dental checkups, wear any recommended night guards, and avoid habits like grinding or chewing hard objects. These steps will help ensure the longevity of your veneers.
How much do veneers cost, and are there financing options available?
The cost of veneers varies based on factors like the number of veneers needed. At SweetHart Dental, we work with patients to find a comfortable price point. We also offer financing options to make the process more affordable.
Who might not be a good candidate for veneers?
Individuals who grind their teeth at night and refuse to wear a protective guard or those with habits like chewing ice or hard candy may not be ideal candidates for veneers. It's important to maintain good oral habits and protect your investment.
